During production I meet Rysan Fall who is a profecional Machinamator. We are good friends since then, and are planaing to produce a machinima film togeather.

The club sceen was shoot in Dance Island and it is brodcast there sometimes.

Last night I answered a call for extras in a musical produced by Terry Lightfoot and Oolon Sputnik that took place in one of the Caledon Studios sims. Oh, have I told you we were all dressed in Victorian age suits and gowns?

For the first scene, they laid us in a line. I don't know what happened next. The place was soooo lagy that I guess I crashed without crashing(!). I head the voices and could move around, but everybody else was frozen. It took me a while to realize that something was wrong and relog, so I'm, not sure if I ended up in that scene. Grrrrr, stupid SL!!!

When I reappeared everybody was getting ready for the next scene where street dancing took place. The directors asked me to change into a red dress (It didn't mater to them that I didn't have a Victorian red dress) and sit on a pose ball in the middle of the street.

While the crew was prepearing the shooting, us actors, where IMing each other like there's no tomorrow, taking pictures and generally having a good time.

It's amazing how much preparation goes into a machinima. Lights, angles, dresses, choreography, background.... Almost as much as a real life movie. Well, perhaps not as much. In any event I was humbled by seeing the level of sophistication. Made me feel such an armature in my own films.

Any way, I had a great time and I hope they'll call me again to be in another film. I'll have to get a 19th century gown for that. Do you think they come in pink? ;-)

Second Life People are Strange

While I was filming the "Lick It" video, I cam across Grendel's Children sim. The avatars on sale there are so well made, that it inspired me to shoot this film. So I staid up one night, and filmed the people coming and going. In the morning, I collected all the movies and added the Doors for atmosphere.

I think it came up nice.

Always A Woman

MarcoJC Hotaling, from GDC, invited me to dance at his rooftop. I had a great time. Sadly he kept going to his SL office at times to take care of business. In those times I filmed the part where I'm sitting alone in the table.

Goofs: I forgot to remove my Flight Feather and it's visible in the bottom left corner of the screen. Woopsy!

Second Life Emoter

The same day I was filming the bathing suit seens for the Barbie Girl video, I was taking a little brake and playing with my Emoter HUD. So naturaly I filmed it.

Not much to say, apart that it as so short that had to find a short enough music for it. The Beetls did it.

Barbie Girl is the first video that was a little over an experiment. It had a story and some synchronization with music.

The funny thing about it was that OhhKen acted in the first few seen but later had to leave for his SL job (he his a workaholic sometimes), leaving me without a co-star.

Improvisation time!

I ended up going to Frank's and meeting up with TwoKnigh, how immediately agreed to fill in (we are friends ever since). So the story changed a little and Barbie end up dancing with him instead of Ken, before going back to the final kiss seen, that was filmed before.

It came out nice in the end, at least for a first film.

I'm Afrodite Maximus and this is my new Blog - Glamour in Pink. Apropriate name, don't you think? ;-)

I'm a fun loving Avatar, that especially likes the creative aspects of Second Life. I love visiting interesting and creative sims and seeing well made avatars. I know how to build, some scripting, and lately I'm into Machinima - the art of film making via computer games. You can check out my videos in my youTube channel. I will post the good ones here.

I work part time in Lovers PlayGound, a furniture shop as a sales person. I also am a freelance builder, scripter and my favorite - Machinimator. Look me up if you want to hire me.
